2026-2027 Fulbright U.S. Scholar Program competition

We are pleased to announce the opening of the 2026-2027 Fulbright U.S. Scholar Program competition. This program is open to U.S. faculty, researchers, and professionals holding a PhD or equivalent degree, who are interested in teaching and/or conducting research in Romania, in any academic field.

The Romanian-U.S. Fulbright Commission encourages members of the Romanian academic community to recommend this opportunity to their colleagues in the United States. These may include professors, researchers, artists, or American experts you have met at conferences or other academic events, international research project partners, or specialists in particular fields with whom you would like to collaborate through the Fulbright Program.

✅ U.S. candidates are invited to explore the award catalog for more information about the available opportunities: Catalog of Awards | U.S. Fulbright Scholars

✅ Host institution: candidates may choose any accredited higher education institution in Romania. In some cases, affiliations with NGOs or other non-academic institutions (such as cultural institutions) may also be eligible. Candidates are encouraged to include a letter of invitation from the host institution.
