The EUTOPIA European University alliance brings together ten regionally and nationally distinct European universities aiming to become an open, multicultural, confederated operation of connected campuses. In June 2019, the “EUTOPIA-2050” project, which grouped then 6 universities, was chosen as one of the initial 17 winning projects of the new European Universities Initiative competitive call launched by the European Commission to build a European Higher Education Area. The EUTOPIA Alliance was recently expanded to encompass a total of 10 regionally and nationally distinct European universities, within the new “EUTOPIA-MORE” project.
